Breast augmentation in Henderson, NV: choosing well close to home

An empty pool terrace with lounge chairs and palm trees under a clear blue sky

Henderson is its own city, not a neighborhood of Las Vegas, and people here often prefer to look for a surgeon on their side of the valley. This guide is for anyone in Green Valley, Anthem, Inspirada, Seven Hills or Lake Las Vegas who is thinking about breast augmentation and wants to know what to check first.

Breast Augmentation Las Vegas is a free referral service, not a clinic. A request sent from this page goes to an independent plastic surgery office in the Las Vegas Valley, which is responsible for its own care and prices.

Henderson and the valley

Henderson sits south-east of Las Vegas and is the second most populous city in Nevada, with 317,610 people at the 2020 census. Its communities include Green Valley, Anthem, Inspirada, Seven Hills and Lake Las Vegas. Requests sent from this site can reach independent offices in Henderson and across the Las Vegas Valley. Breast Augmentation Las Vegas has no office in Henderson or anywhere else.

Whether you live in Henderson or Summerlin, the rules are the same: Nevada’s medical licensing and advertising rules apply statewide, not city by city.

Finding and checking a surgeon near you

The American Board of Plastic Surgery has a public lookup that searches by location, with a radius from a ZIP code, so you can see which certified surgeons are near your part of Henderson. Use the ABPS lookup, then check the surgeon’s Nevada license on the State Board of Medical Examiners licensee lookup.

ABPS describes certification as a voluntary credential, so asking about it is fair, and checking it yourself takes a minute. Nevada’s rules (NAC 630.190) forbid physician advertising that promises a surgical result, claims superiority or creates unrealistic expectations. Treat a promise like that as a reason to keep looking.

What augmentation involves

ASPS describes breast augmentation as using implants or fat transfer to enlarge the breasts, restore volume after weight loss or pregnancy, or improve asymmetry. It does not fix significant sagging; for that, see breast lift. Cleveland Clinic says good candidates are in good physical and mental health, have realistic expectations, and do not smoke or are able to stop.

Surgery is done under general anesthesia or IV sedation. Most people go home after a short recovery, with someone to drive them and, ideally, stay the first night. Cleveland Clinic names four incision sites a surgeon may use:

  • Around the areola (periareolar).
  • In the crease under the breast (inframammary).
  • In the armpit (transaxillary).
  • Through the navel (transumbilical).

Implant choices

ASPS describes the main types. Saline implants hold sterile salt water; if one leaks, it collapses and the body absorbs the saline. The FDA has approved saline implants for breast augmentation in women 18 and older. Silicone gel implants feel closer to natural tissue; a leak can stay inside the shell or pocket without signs, so imaging checks are recommended. They are approved for breast augmentation in women 22 and older. Structured saline adds an inner structure, and form-stable (“gummy bear”) implants hold their shape. Surfaces are smooth or textured.

Prefer no implant? Fat transfer uses your own fat for a smaller gain.

Recovery

ASPS says acute pain typically improves within one to five days, while soreness and swelling last a few weeks. Most people return to desk work about a week after surgery, physical jobs after at least three weeks, and are cleared for all activities by about two months. A support bra is worn as directed. Your surgeon will give you your own timeline.

One practical point for Henderson: ask where your follow-up visits will be, because a check-up close to home is easier in the first weeks.

Risks the FDA describes

In October 2021 the FDA required a boxed warning on all breast implants and a patient decision checklist. Your surgeon goes over it with you before surgery; you initial and sign it, and so does the implanting physician. The FDA states: “Breast implants are not considered lifetime devices.” The longer you have them, the more likely complications become, and some need more surgery.

BIA-ALCL, a T-cell lymphoma that is not breast cancer, “appears more often in patients with textured breast implants.” The FDA has also reported squamous cell carcinoma and other lymphomas in the capsule around smooth and textured implants, which it believes may be rare. It notes: “Symptoms such as fatigue, memory loss, rash, ‘brain fog,’ and joint pain may be associated with breast implants,” and these are still being studied. For silicone gel implants, MRI is the most effective way to find a silent rupture, and ultrasound is an acceptable alternative. See the FDA risks page.

ASPS also lists capsular contracture, bleeding, infection, changes in nipple or breast sensation, poor scarring, implant malposition and the possibility of revision surgery.

Cost

ASPS reports a 2024 national range of $4,575 to $8,000 for the surgeon’s fee alone. Anesthesia, the facility and the implants are extra, and each office in Henderson sets its own price. The cost guide explains each line of a quote.

Questions to bring to a Henderson consultation

  1. Are you certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and how many years of plastic surgery training do you have?
  2. Where will my surgery take place, and how is that facility accredited?
  3. Which implant type, size, incision and placement do you suggest, and why?
  4. Where will my follow-up visits be?
  5. How are complications handled, and who do I contact after hours?

If heaviness is your concern rather than size, read about breast reduction.
