Breast lift in Las Vegas: how it works, with or without implants

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight change and time can all leave breasts lower and emptier than they used to be. A breast lift (mastopexy) addresses position and shape. This guide explains what it can and cannot do, how it differs from augmentation, and what to ask a surgeon in Las Vegas or Henderson.

Breast Augmentation Las Vegas is a free referral service, not a clinic. A request sent from this page goes to an independent plastic surgery office in the Las Vegas Valley, which is responsible for its own care and prices.

What a lift changes

Cleveland Clinic describes a breast lift as surgery that lifts, reshapes and tightens the breasts without changing their size. That is the key difference from augmentation: ASPS notes that implants add volume but do not fix significant sagging.

So the question to bring to a consultation is simple. Is your concern mostly position, mostly volume, or both? Position points to a lift. Volume points to implants or fat transfer. Both may point to a lift combined with implants.

Incisions and scars

The incision pattern depends on how much skin needs to go. Cleveland Clinic names four common ones:

  • Crescent
  • Donut
  • Vertical, often called lollipop
  • Inverted T, often called anchor

Ask the surgeon to sketch where each one runs. Scars from a lift are permanent, but they fade over time. Ask the surgeon which pattern they suggest for you, why, and where the scars would sit in a swimsuit or bra.

A lift with implants

Some people want both higher position and more fullness. A lift can be combined with implants in one operation, or done in stages. ASPS, writing about combined procedures in general, says most surgeons agree time under anesthesia should be “no longer than six hours,” and that combining cuts total anesthesia time, cost and recovery, while more healing sites and a longer surgery add risk, including blood clots. Some patients are staged instead. Which approach suits you is a decision for you and the surgeon.

A lift is also often paired with implant removal. Cleveland Clinic notes that explant surgery is often combined with a breast lift, for people who want implants out but the shape kept.

Recovery, week by week

These ranges come from one Cleveland Clinic page; your own surgeon will give you your own timeline.

WhenWhat Cleveland Clinic describes
Surgery dayUsually 1 to 2 hours; most people go home afterward
First 2 weeksDiscomfort is expected
About 1 weekDesk work and walking
Up to 6 weeksVigorous activity limited
About 8 weeksA regular bra

Cleveland Clinic says results show at once. Cleveland Clinic says results last several years, but aging, pregnancy and weight change all affect them. If you plan more pregnancies, tell the surgeon, because it may change the timing they suggest.

Risks to discuss

Cleveland Clinic lists asymmetry, changes in nipple or breast sensation, poor wound healing, loss of the nipple or areola, possible inability to breastfeed, and blood clots. Ask how often the surgeon sees each of these and how they are handled.

If your plan includes implants: risks the FDA describes

In October 2021 the FDA required a boxed warning on all breast implants and a patient decision checklist. The surgeon goes over it with you before surgery, and you both sign it. The FDA states: “Breast implants are not considered lifetime devices.” The longer you have them, the more likely complications become.

BIA-ALCL, a T-cell lymphoma that is not breast cancer, “appears more often in patients with textured breast implants.” The FDA has also reported squamous cell carcinoma and other lymphomas in the capsule around smooth and textured implants, which it believes may be rare. It notes: “Symptoms such as fatigue, memory loss, rash, ‘brain fog,’ and joint pain may be associated with breast implants.” For silicone gel implants, MRI is the most effective check for silent rupture and ultrasound an acceptable alternative. See the FDA risks page.

What a lift costs

ASPS reports a 2024 national range of $6,500 to $11,000 for the surgeon’s fee alone for a breast lift, and a 2023 national average of $6,816. Anesthesia, the facility and, if you add them, implants are extra. Each Las Vegas office sets its own price. The cost guide explains how to read a quote.

Choosing a surgeon for a lift

Ask whether the surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and confirm it on the ABPS lookup. Check their Nevada license on the State Board of Medical Examiners lookup. Then ask:

  1. How many breast lifts do you perform, and how many with implants?
  2. Which incision pattern do you suggest for me, and where will the scars be?
  3. Would you do a lift and implants together or in stages, and why?
  4. Where is surgery done, and how is that facility accredited?
  5. Can I see photos of your own past lift patients?

If heaviness, not sagging, is your main concern, read about breast reduction. Living in Green Valley or Anthem? See the Henderson guide.

Questions people ask

Does a breast lift make breasts bigger?

No. Cleveland Clinic describes a lift as reshaping without changing size. Implants or fat transfer add volume.

Will a lift leave scars?

Yes. Scars from a lift are permanent but fade. Their length depends on the incision pattern, from a crescent to an anchor.

How long until I can go back to work?

Cleveland Clinic says desk work and walking at about one week, with vigorous activity limited for up to six weeks. Your surgeon gives your own timeline.

Can a lift and implants be done together?

Often, yes, or in stages. ASPS notes that combining shortens total anesthesia time but a longer surgery adds risk. Ask the surgeon which they suggest.

What does a breast lift cost in Las Vegas?

Each office sets its own price. ASPS reports a 2024 national range of $6,500 to $11,000 for the surgeon’s fee alone.
